Program: https://www.sympla.com.br/evento/international-symposium-on-innate-immunity/3494702
About the event: The International Symposium on Innate Immunity will bring together researchers from leading scientific institutions in Brazil and abroad to present and discuss recent advances in our understanding of innate immunity—the body’s first line of defense against infectious agents.
The program will feature research on immunity to tuberculosis, autophagy, responses to respiratory viruses, and immune mechanisms involved in inflammatory processes and cancer. One of the highlights will be trained immunity, a phenomenon in which previous exposures can modify how innate immune cells respond to new stimuli. Research into these mechanisms may contribute to the development of new disease prevention and control strategies, as well as preparedness for future pandemics.
Organized by the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the University of São Paulo (ICB-USP) and the Institut Pasteur de São Paulo (IPSP), with sponsorship from FAPESP, the symposium will feature scientists from institutions in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Argentina, and Brazil.
